The pork processing facility in Eagle Grove, Iowa uses some of the most advanced manufacturing technology available allowing Prestage Foods of Iowa to remain dedicated to providing the best tasting and most consistent fresh pork products. Eagle Grove was a great place to plant our roots in Iowa and this was done through building the plant which was a $325 million investment.

In the heart of the Midwest, Iowa is the nation’s top producer of pork and produces more pigs than it can process. The Prestage plant keeps the value of processing pork in Iowa through processing 10,000 hogs per shift while creating more than 900 full-time jobs.

Prestage Foods of Iowa meets all applicable regulatory requirements for production, sale and distribution of pork. We comply with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines and Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (FDA) guidelines, as applicable. We are inspected by Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) daily during defined hours of operation.

Prestage Foods of Iowa is committed to food safety and providing customers with a safe, high-quality product. Our food safety program is monitored by a HACCP Coordinator and USDA-FSIS representatives on site. Prestage Foods of Iowa has developed and implemented Foods Safety and Quality Systems that are compliant with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards and requirements. Our food safety system consists of, but is not limited to:
